Prince Albert II of Monaco Plants a Tree in Jerusalem Forest

Emphasizing the historically close ties which link his country with Israel, Prince Albert II of Monaco planted an olive tree sapling in friendly and intimate ceremony at the Grove of Nations in the Jerusalem Forest just behind the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial.

“This planting is symbolic of our common shared Mediterranean heritage. I am extremely touched and honored that my country, the Principality of Monaco, will be one of the nations represented in this grove, symbolizing the friendship between Monaco and Israel, a friendship which goes back many years,” said Prince Albert
